The Sweet Life

For Culture’s 2018 “Great 28” Pairings Special Issue, I worked with writer Molly McDonough, photographer Evi Abeler, illustrator Tom Bingham and stylist Julia Choi to bring a cheese and honey pairings guide to life. The multifaceted, non-linear nature of the package presented a unique design challenge–to guide the reader through many points of interest without overwhelming the eye. To immediately capture a reader’s attention with the opening spread, we styled an overhead tableau of honey pairings around typography hand-painted in honey.
